The Geelong Football Club is mourning the passing of dual premiership player Jim Norman.

A ruckman and defender, Norman played in the 1951 and 1952 VFL premiership sides after starting his career with the Cats in 1950.

Author John Devaney said Norman was not frightened to throw his weight around, boasted considerable pace for a big man, and his general skills were also good.

His final game for the Cats was the 1952 grand final where he was one of the best afield.

He played 37 games in total, booting 15 goals.
